CRTA is Taking Security Seriously by Teaming up with Pivot Group to Get the Message out
ATLANTA, December 17, 2003 /PRNewswire/ -- Secure internal systems, confidentiality, email security, wireless, and laptop infection were just a few of the concerns stated at the Columbus Regional Technology Association’s December 2003 Security Program. Pivot Group addressed the attendees’ internet security issues with a thorough, yet direct, presentation.

“Internet security threats are very real, yet a lot people have no idea how vulnerable their businesses are and exactly what it will cost them if nothing is done to secure their environments.” proclaims Jim Poole, President of the CRTA.
“Some of the many problems companies must overcome include having non-implemented security technologies, not being able to keep up with patch updates, how they should first respond to an attack, and not assessing their vulnerabilities.” stated Poole.
Most of the attendees noted having problems with security breaches in the past and were eager to find out how to prevent future attacks. “We recommend a continuous cycle of assessment, improvement, implementation, maintenance, and reassessment to mitigate security risk,” said Jim Soenksen, CEO of the Pivot Group.
